Dragon’s Dogma 2, after a span of more than ten years since the first release, is finally on schedule for this month, and this time around it’s taking the Arisen onto another adventure to confront the dragon that starts by ripping out one’s heart. This new RPG by Capcom follows them and their Pawns as they traverse the fantasy world of the game to end up being the rightful ruler. Screen Rant recently spent three hours with a forthcoming game, which showcased just how many things players will have to explore and experiment with.
One thing that Dragon's Dogma 2 almost does is turn itself into a simulator rather than your typical RPG – there are main threads that can be followed but there isn’t much limitation either. In contrast to the previous Dragon's Dogma 2 preview featuring basic vocations such as Archer, Thief and Fighter, this session was centered on two advanced classes: Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer each taking half of it. The completely different fighting styles greatly illustrated some of the various ways in which players could approach their long journey through a large in-game world.

Between quest points, while moving through wilderness separating cities and towns, creatures become more diverse with weather changes and a day-night cycle that makes everything different. The world is simply full of enemies so different from each other both visually and in fighting styles starting with scary amphibious lizards dwelling in waterways up to large griffins soaring through skies above mountaintops. There are secrets everywhere like caves tombs treasures scattered along side of map that can easily make you get lost as you wander aimlessly around for hours on end because there is always something more interesting just around the corner.

On this part of the preview, Battahl was introduced by having the Arisen disguise themselves if they were to be allowed into it; an exclusively Beastren city. Players had to visit their nearest junk-yard where they would make fakes instead of honest copies and gather such dirty things like those. After purchasing one of these masks, the Arisen goes inside and receives information about Rockmouse's Burrow in Bakbattahl. Even though our arrival never happened in this section, our journey still provided us with a range of opponents and places alongside few sidequests – most being transport duties.

The Dragon's Dogma 2 preview for Magick Archer took place in Digger's Ruins mine shaft where Glimmercoal was being hunted by The Arisen and his/her party for repairing an important sword. In order to better see the glowing resource, players had to turn off lanterns, which added a nice eerie atmosphere with funny surprises resulting from enemy ambushes in pitch darkness at times. While fighting against pig-like creatures in the cave, the Ricochet Seeker arrows were displayed perfectly on its walls that made it easier for them to be defeated - they were bouncing around between obstacles.

Final Thoughts On Dragon's Dogma 2
Really, this preview showed a big range of different enemies and how to deal with them, in many different ways depending on what you are playing and who else is in your party – scaling giant rock monsters, throwing lizards at each other. There’s a lot of scope for fun combinations and experimenting within the game’s advanced classes, and even three hours barely scratched the surface of what the world had to offer. Forthcoming Dragon's Dogma 2 will have much for players to explore because it is a fully open world where one has almost no limitations as regards movement, it comes out later in March.
